Martha Herman heads the hospitality ministry at Paxtonville United Methodist Church. She has been married for 50+ years to Sam Herman and has two sons and five grandchildren. Martha accepted Christ as her Savior when she was 12 years old and joined Paxtonville United Methodist Church soon thereafter. Both Martha’s husband, Sam and her serve in hospitality positions as they feel a need to express God’s love for us by sharing that love with others. They try to greet all who come through our doors with love and acceptance as Christ has received them. Though she has been retired for several years, she feels her experience as an Administrative Assistant/Legislative Aide for the PA House of Representatives for 30+ years and her youth growing up in a general store has given her a “people person” background.
Martha’s journey with Christ has been a progression of growth throughout her life. She’s grown through her service to the church, her experience leading Sunday School classes and Bible studies and through personal.
Martha’s love for Christ has lead her to be involved in ministry in some capacity over the majority of her life, such as; teaching/helping with children and youth ministries, Chairwoman of the Administrative Council for many years and serving as a trustee for several terms.
