The Lewisburg District HUB at Paxtonville UMC is a branch of Mission Central, the Susquehanna Conference’s mission distribution warehouse located in Mechanicsburg, PA.
The HUB at Paxtonville UMC collects supplies and whole kits based on the United Methodist Committee on Relief’s (UMCOR) guidelines. Supplies are used to create kits or whole kits are verified for accuracy. These kits are then transported to Mechanicsburg for distribution. UMCOR kits include health, school, sewing, birthing, layette and cleaning buckets. The specific items for each kit can be found on the Mission Central website.
The HUB can also work in reverse and distribute kits create here or elsewhere if there is a natural disaster or a mission outreach project locally. Often 44% of UMCOR kits are distributed locally in Pennsylvania, 44% nationally and 12% globally. These percentages change as needs arise.
The HUB at Paxtonville accepts supplies / kits from any individual or organization will to to donate. The operating hours for the HUB are 8:30 – Noon on Tuesdays. Supplies / kits can be dropped off at the church Monday through Friday 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM at the front door. Other drop off times can be arranged by calling the church at 570-837-3158.
